Carlos, invited to ABRCSM Leadership Development Academy

Carlos Ventura, PhD student in the Chemistry Program Laufer Center Physical and Quantitative Biology track, has been invited to participate in the Innovation Programs’ Leadership Development Academy of the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minoritized Scientists (ABRCMS). The goal of the program is Training the Next Generation to Become Leaders in STEM. The Leadership Development Academy will take place on October 4-6, 2024 in Washington DC and includes a 4-month virtual team-based community project, culminating in a presentation at the virtual ABRCMS365: Career & Research Summit in February/Early-March 2025.

As can be seen on the webpage https://www.abrcms.org/, for over 20 years, the ABRCMS – recipient of the 2019 AIMBE Excellence in STEM Education Award – has been the go-to conference for community college, undergraduate and postbaccalaureate students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

The ABRCMS Innovation Programs’ Leadership Development Academy is the next step forward in and supporting the advancement of the fields or science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) through diversity. The Leadership Development Academy is an intensive 2.5-day summit bringing together top STEM senior-level graduate students and early-career postdoctoral fellows to gain crucial skills needed to excel as leaders in their field and drive change at the highest levels.

We warmly congratulate Carlos, for being selected a participant in this important event, invited by Chair of the ABRCMS Steering Committee!
