Gábor Balázsi Honored with SUNY Chancellor’s Award

Gábor Balázsi, Henry Laufer Endowed Professor in the Laufer Center for Physical & Quantitative Biology, received the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Scholarship and Creative Activities on December 8. This award recognizes faculty who have made significant and sustained contributions to their fields, and Gabor’s work in quantitative biology and biomedical engineering has been widely noted for its impact. His research, mentorship, and leadership across the Laufer Center and Stony Brook continue to shape advances in genetic systems control and cellular evolution.

Several colleagues connected to the Laufer Center and its wider community were also honored this year:

• Ramana Davuluri – Distinguished Professor
• Isaac Carrico – Excellence in Teaching
• Jessica Seeliger – Excellence in Faculty Service
